Ah, what a delight to read a chapter without spoilers--I was totally expecting the Rukia/Riruka fight and downright spazzed when I saw we were going to get the Bishie fight.
But please, can anyone tell me what the hell that penis is on page 7? I've only read the chapter once now, and Sensei's love of extreme close-ups always challenges me.
Tsukishima's cutting of the leaf was thrilling--I anticipated that he would be able to slice up Byakuya's each and every petal from that move--who would've guessed that the man could penetrate into the past of inanimate objects! What a fascinating ability. I'm glad that Nii-sama isn't having such an easy time of it. And Ikkaku's little parable goes on to support the story now being told between Bya and Bookman. We knew from Tsukishima's comments to Ginjou much earlier that Tsuki seemed to not want to kill Shishi. But what's the relationship between Tsuki and his disciple and why emphasize it now? And of course this whole "don't die for someone who wouldn't die for you" begs the question of Kenpachi actually being willing to die for anyone in his squad. I tend to think of Kenpachi as not thinking about dying very much, let alone dying for anyone. But his division is freakishly loyal....
The fullbringers are surviving now. I'm fairly confident that Tsukishima (who looks so awesome with Ginjou on a page of the new anime calendar by the way) will live through this fight. Wondering what Nii-sama has up his sleeves for next week.
