interesting things? movie summary, gum cards, Ishida review
More thingies for you all. First, Annie IMed me early this morning with scans of the new butler maid gum cards and said "don't ask me for HQs--I don't have them yet!" LOL. I was happy because we weren't expecting these to be released until the 30th. Just look at Ishida here pouring the tea like Sebastian! Renji is carrying a tray (are there seaweed ambassador cookies under the lid? Taiyaki?) and we have maid!Rukia at last.

I'd been waiting patiently for Ishida fans to blog and review Hellverse since from first reports most  reviews I'd been hearing had been going on about shipping stuffs and naked!Rukia. XD  pony_rocks posted links in the Ishida FC this morning to blogs from Ishida fans. She's a professional translator so I didn't think to bother her, but mezzo was kind enough to translate! Ishida gushing from blog under cut. Movie spoilers of course (but yeah movie spoilers are all over this community--I'm not really hiding them well).

しかも 雑談している集団から少し離れた机に腰かけた姿を

Since trouble first appears at school, Uryuu also appears early on in his school uniform. He's standing a little apart from the chatting group, leaning his waist on a desk. The camera angle shows him from above, it's that kind of composition. A pointed glance (note: to Ichigo, I think, since I saw a similar drawing about this on pixiv). Once the DVD comes out I think I will push the 'stop' button on this moment, without a doubt. I always go to watch the movies thinking 'If Uryuu is shown even just a little I won't have any complaints' - but this time it was like 'I'm satisfied even just with this', it was that wonderful.

というよりも、今回 雨竜はずっとでていた。映画の始めから終りまで。
雨竜は地獄へ向かう一護・ルキア・恋次に同行。わけありの咎人・コクトーとともに 人質をとった敵が待ち

But really, this time Uryuu was always on stage - from the beginning of the movie to the end. Moreover, it was in many locations. They really included everything - from Uryuu's words of decision, to his final killing move, to his playful flavour. It was a development that made a fan such as me - who always wonders for how long I will see Uryuu, and if he'll get any lines, with my heart all fluttering - very happy. Uryuu accompanies Ichigo, Rukia and Renji when they go to Hell. Together with the criminal (with a reason), Kokutou, they head towards the heart of Hell - where the enemy awaits them with the hostage.

倒れている姿の美しさに 目が釘づけになる。

In my opinion, the best scene was the shot of Uryuu saying 'Hell... for Kurosaki, that's...'. Also, the scene where Uryuu falls down after failing to avoid a mutual attack. My eyes couldn't break away from the beauty of his falling figure. Like I thought... I love Uryuu's figure, his movements, his voice, his personality and his fighting style.

Well then, a final question.
In the movie, how many times do you see Uryuu pushing his glasses up?
To get it right, make sure you go to the theatre!

Uryuu's glasses kept shining!
It's worth seeing it just for that!

Uryuu kept poking Ichigo while he ran around swiftly, but eventually he ended up going along with his rash style. Then with his Quincy pride, he made use of the Quincy's tipically bright head - and crushed his opponent! O-of course his glasses weren't just shining all the time... he also kept pushing them up his nose, and they had their own sound effect that went 'Chaa'! That's evidence of the improved quality of the movie. They shone! They moved! They made sounds!

Nii-sama also had many lines concerning Rukia, it was very proper. (laugh)

LOL, Ishida, also Nii-sama. I swear, Nii-sama's scene with Ichigo may be one of the scenes I'm most looking forward to in the movie. Apparently many reviewers have said that it's powerful. There's a good summary in English at animesuki from Langus who went to see the movie HERE (I like that place, even though it often posts stuffs from here w/o credit to Mezz et al) and with all due respect to Langus, I don't think he got Bya's character right in that scene.

Byakuya wasn't being cold to his sister. Reportedly, Byakuya was trying to calm a guilty and freaked out Ichigo; Nii-sama was being the grown-up and saying Rukia was "a proud Shinigami" and had been prepared to die upon entering Hell, etc. He reportedly asked Ichigo to think about why it was that Rukia saved the older brother. It's at this point that Yuzu comes to life Orihime was trying to heal her? Not clear on this but Yuzu's hell chain disappears and Ichigo decides to rescue his friends with the hope that this will work for them too. They've all given their lives for him and become denizens of hell or something. Renji and Ishida are hanging rotting from a tree *sob* (reportedly--Neha and I were whining last night "SP--Don't rot the bishies!") and Rukia is then brought back to life and slapped around while Kokutou tries to get Ichigo to change into IchiThing. (That's the part Langus won't spoil you for XD) But Ichigo won't and while Rukia encourages him and Kokutou keeps hurting Rukia and making her bleed and going "feel the hate" (lol) Ichigo fights his dark side and instead turns into a glowing (lol more) Hell Knight form and of course saves the day. Renji and Ishida wake up somehow and freak out. Orihime catches people in her shield. Ichigo smiles at Orihime and Chad. Things get normal again in Kurosaki household. There is a lot of nakama AND ALMOST HARDLY ANY SHINIGAMI IN IT AT ALL.

I was telling someone that maybe because Bleach's actual 10th anniversary is in August, maybe the DVD will be out a little earlier for the sake of promotional somethings. I've never wanted to see a Bleach movie so bad.

What about the hug scene ??? Was it lying from detractors ??
_debbiechan_: aim high_debbiechan_ on December 6th, 2010 09:11 pm (UTC)
Haha, oh no, it's real. But I posted about it in previous entries. There have even been drawings on Pixiv and elsewhere from people showing Inoue coming at Ichigo from behind to cling to him and beg him to return safely--but it wasn't a full-out hug like some people thought at first. No boobies pressing on him or anything. XD She tugs on his shirt or lays his head on his back according to some people.

I hate that word "detractors." People just use it when they don't want to outright name a shipping faction. XD. Anyway, the hug was Orihime tugging on Ichigo and clinging to him and asking him to come back. By many reports it's a very touching scene. IchiOri shippers didn't even believe there was a hug at first when the first reviews were coming out--they were pretty skeptical that they were getting such goodies but they seem pretty happy about the scene now. They should be--it seems very sweet.

_debbiechan_ please,do you know someone can translate this? plz plz plz

_debbiechan_: COMMUNICATION_debbiechan_ on December 6th, 2010 10:58 pm (UTC)

It's something about the Orihime and Ichigo scene? Well, I'm not Translation Central here. I'll let someone step up if they want. XD

"The drawings when those two are in Ichigo's house... they were wonderful, weren't they? Ichigo was cool, and Orihime was cute. Though there were times when I thought that the line of Orihime's lips was a little thick.
Still... I think it was/would be good even without the hug. She talked with (Buu-san?) and seized the hem of her skirt/his cuff a little... but her hand was shaking. This kind of thing was very unlike Orihime, no? I feel like she wouldn't be so bold."

No way to know which translation is right where I put two options. XD

I guess you'll just have to watch the movie to know.

I don't think I can watch Rukia get beaten like that. It disturbs me. Orihime getting beat up freaked me out, but it more pissed me off than made me upset, since I knew that if she wanted to, she could have stopped it. But this? Rukia can't even fight back anymore or even begin to defend herself and this guy is beating the shit out of her for the express purpose of making Ichigo freak out/get mad/get upset.

My 'ugh' meter is pinging.
hinodeh: i'm a sad drunkhinodeh on December 6th, 2010 09:42 pm (UTC)
It's a pretty bad beating alright, especially since they go usually easier on the women in shounen anime. The tooth thing is harsh and something that a man would have to normally go through.

I think the purpose of this brutality is to highlight Rukia's selflessness, especially towards Ichigo - even though she's being put through so much physical pain, her number one concern is Ichigo and his sanity.
_debbiechan_: Rukia_debbiechan_ on December 6th, 2010 10:08 pm (UTC)

There's a lot of intense humiliation it seems--that's for sure. The nudity, chaining, slapping. But Rukia is NOT a DID. She kills her opponent earlier, she dies getting Ichigo and his sister out of Hell and here she's seen enduring all this to encourage Ichigo to his better self. She will NOT be the one to bring out the beast in him. It's powerful storytelling.

Hmm, let me try that post again
So I take it from both of your responses that the age-old, oft-repeated comeback of 'Well, Rukia wouldn't have done any better on the Dome, I bet she would have done the same thing' has finally received its answer?

Because if this is the parallel that was meant by these scenes.......hoo boy
nahlackasexical on December 7th, 2010 01:54 pm (UTC)
Re: Hmm, let me try that post again
Actually, for a while there it was "Well, Rukia would have done even worse on the dome, because she doesn't have any powers at all and Ichigo would've gone SPLAT when Ulquiorra threw him from the tower."

Is there any splattering in this movie? Of spaghetti sauce perhaps?

Re: Hmm, let me try that post again

The dumb thing about that argument is that Rukia has Shinigami speed and can use kidou and OF COURSE she could have caught him. *sigh*
loverofstoriesloverofstories on December 6th, 2010 10:38 pm (UTC)
Ahhhh, this makes me anticipate the movie even MORE, if that's possible <3 xD

The posts in the IchiRuki fc got me all excited to see Rukia in action, shining as Ichi's ray of light. I look forward to seeing Orihime's cling/hug too -- I may not ship IchiHime, but I do like Orihime and I do like Ichigo. Orihime's thought processes interest me. Plus, the art sounds pretty great...

And now, hearing good things about the Ishida scenes makes the movie sound even better. *________* Thank you pony_rocks, mezzo, and debbie!! ^^

I think that's perfectly in character for Byakuya. Ever since his confession to Rukia on the Sokyoku(sp?) Hill both of the Kuchiki's have obviously made the effort to be better sibings.

The coat he lent her for Hueco Mundo--the way he speaks about her to Pumpkincarr--I think Byakuya is developing a huuuge soft spot for his sister.
_debbiechan_: BYAKUKA_debbiechan_ on December 7th, 2010 04:14 am (UTC)

I die with love every time I remember that he gave Rukia and RENJI coats for the desert sands of Hueco Mundo... I remember people speculating that the coats had secret weapons in them or something but nah they were just coats. LOL.

Rukia blushed with embarrassment recalling her brother's gesture of mother hennishness (and yeah people blush for reasons other than being in love--Yuzu, Ishida, these characters are shown blushing from embarrassment all the time--a friend was arguing to me the other day that Inoue wasn't blushing from love in Ichigo's room last chapter but I wasn't convinced).

Byakuya has such hidden warm feelings for his sister. It's even in the data book and written by Kubo himself that Nii-sama comes off as a cold guy but is "really a warm person."

W-WHAT?? She lost a tooth?

As a future dentist,I'm outraged! That bastard Kokutou! Damn,Rukia is so awesome...

Thank you so much for the translation Mezzo! :)

Thanks a lot for posting the information, Debbie! ^_^

The cards look really awesome! I can't wait for the HQ scan :D Indeed, Ishida looks slightly like Sebastian there...I won't say I'm an Ishida fan, but that picture quite makes the fangirl in me jumps up and down!!

The comment about Uryuu's glasses really made me laugh XD Especially this part: "They shone! They moved! They made sounds!"

...simply brilliant.

The final battle sounds so intense. I try to imagine how it will look like and I keep getting really scary images in my head about Rukia getting tortured (nudity, chain, stabbing, blood, tooth...) X_X Hopefully it's not as bad as I thought. My imagination tends to go overboard.

I can't wait for the DVD to be released! I wonder what kind of cards they will include in the limited edition of the DVD; I'm waiting especially for the 'riddle card' (if there's one) like the one we had in FtB's limited edition DVD...

OOH, I'm so happy that Ishida gets a lot more spotlight on him, specially after his heroics at the dome and in awesome artistic quality too <33333.
Love the maid/butler cards *__*.
So many goodies.
Rukia is such a badass, she keeps helping Ichigo to focus and not loose himself, even after having a chipped tooth and being tortured and abused. <3333

I have read the spoiler. Seemed like everyone try not to spoil the final battle scene as much as they can. It made me more desperate.....~ ~

Those cards...OMG!!! If those came out in HQ I will definitely vector the sweet and sexy maid Orihime-chan and the hot-looking Sebastian...I mean Ishida. ^_^

I just love it that the Nakama team get the shine on this movie. We've been put through so much Shinigami fanservice and less attention on the Nakama itself. Plus, it pleases my inner fangirl that Ishida gets so many cool action scenes and Orihime too!!! Then there's also Chad. I'm so loving this. I can't wait to watch it.
_debbiechan_: Chad tatoo_debbiechan_ on December 7th, 2010 02:49 pm (UTC)

Yessss, Chad looks good in the beginning and saves some girls, Renji reportedly redeems himself and kicks some HELL ASS, Ishida is awesome and cool, Rukia is stunning and selfless, Orihime heals and has touching fan-pleasing moments and sexy clothes... lots of nakama for everyone.

wait, so is kokutou actually a villain? havent heard this before.
i dont mind getting spoiled, can someone answer this?
_debbiechan_: D Bomb_debbiechan_ on December 7th, 2010 08:45 pm (UTC)
Re: hmm?

Yes he's the final villain. He betrays Ichigo and everyone and kills Rukia. I knew I didn't trust that pretty face--although he's supposedly not so pretty when he takes that binding off--he's two-faced, haha.

Re: hmm?
Sorry if this is a double post, i answered once and its not appearing on my computer.

anyway, thanks debbie! that's very interesting, i had heard that kokotou went to hell because he did bad things for his sister, is that BS then?
also, is the movie's villain shuren working with kokotou, or is kokotou his boss?

Re: hmm?

The reason you're not seeing your comments when you post is that anonymous comments are being automatically screened because of insistent spamming by a couple individuals flooding the community with long, incoherent, inappropriate arguments for Ichigo and Orihime shipping in the wrong places. To deal with the spam and the one person who's been banned from various forums.

Not sure if Shuren are at odds or in kahoots--I think the former?

I really wanna see the movie like now!!! ♥o♥ Ishida-kun <3 oh, Ishida-kun, I'm such a happy fangurl nao!!! xDD And Nii-sama, you're such awesomeness. =w=

And waaaaah, I've been drawing a maid Hime & butler Uryu and now these shows up. OMG <3 <3 I WANT THAT SMEXY BUTLER URYU <3 <3 He looks like Sebby, A LOT here. And Hime-chan's short skirt is short. And curly hair is just dandy <3
