The Lady in Waiting

Orihime Inoue is a lady that demands a second look. With her innocent silver eyes, delicate lips, and that long, silky orange hair, this girl possesses an effortlessly attractive beauty that is a cross between an angel and a princess.

I couldn't resist vectoring such a fine looking scan. Before I always found it hard to vector characters in their kimono, especially in extravagant ones, but Orihime pushed me to do it. I'm pretty impressed with her character design her. She totally fits the part of a noble Japanese woman in the past. And I just love the hair.

Vectoring the hair was a bit difficult since it's all over the place, but it was fun coloring it and adding highlights. The patterns on the kimono are made from brushes. I adjusted the shape dynamics and made them scatter. Oh, by the way, I'm not good at vectoring flowers, so pardon me if it came out strange. But the Iris/Ayame is a really pretty flower.

I think its amazing that they chose Orihime to represent Murasaki Shikibu, of all people. The world's first novelist is a pretty high honor, especially in Japanese culture.

The vector looks very clean, nice work!

It actually fits quite well when you think about it. Orihime has quite an imagination, I'm sure she could make use of this in writing if she wanted to, huh?

Forgot to add: the vector looks very nice, there's a lot of detail there, I don't know how you have the patience for it. XD

Yes, it's a high honor for Orihime to represent one of the greatest novelists in Japan.

I'm glad you like the vector.

Is it possible you can make a wallpaper out of this? It's really beautiful work. I love this calendar pic--it's probably one of my all time fave pics of Orihime and since it's not from Sensei, that's saying A LOT.

The pinks purples and soft orange work surprisingly well here--that's a hard group of colors not to make garish.

I second _debbiechan_'s call for a wallpaper version!

The details are something that deserve longer reflection, and a wallpaper format allows frequent visits.

It's great that the colors turned out okay and pleasing. ^_^

I'm still thinking of a good concept for the wallpaper. A beautiful Orihime deserves a good wall.

It suits Orihime really well to represent a novelist. She is eccentric and has a big imagination. That is really an honor.

Good work.
