1. The Princess and Her Knight by darthsqueechan
Length: 11, 087 words
Rating: PG-13 for violence?
Pairing: Ishida and Orihime
Note: I have no idea if this is on time anymore, since I fell asleep on the last page. But even if it's not, this story is also for Luminous85. It's a story that turned out a lot longer than I ever expected. An archetypal fairytale that I tried to make sound like those passed from generation to generation. Let's see how I did?
Note 2: So. Turns out my story is too long to post. So I guess I'll be uploading in pieces. Unfortunately, all HTML I had died. So place emphasis wherever you see fit. Sorry!
2. I Want to Apologize to You by nehalenia
Warnings: BL/Shounen ai/Yaoi (actually pretty mild, tho)
Disclaimer: All characters belong to Kubo Tite, Viz Media and whoever else owns them. It sure isn't me. This is provided for entertainment purposes and no profit is being made or sought.
Author's Notes: Thanks to _debbiechan_ for holding this contest! Forgive me for copping out on the smut, but all the other entries were PG and PG-13 and I wimped out. (Maybe I'll do an NSFW omake for this, tho?) :)
Story Notes: Kira's poetic efforts are from the "Bleach Official Bootleg", translations to be found here: http://kay-willow.livejournal.com/212477.html
3. Quartet by manonlechat
Pairing/Characters: Gin/Rangiku and Hitsugaya/Hinamori
4. A Guide at the Threshold by sagebrush_2008
Rating: PG – for general unhappiness
Pairing/Characters: Ulquiorra and Orihime
Length: 2,369 words
Summary: Set before Ichigo and pals arrive in Hueco Mundo. When Orihime refuses to eat and his threats about force-feeding have lost their effect, Ulquiorra tries something different: flowers. But why do they mean so much to her? Ulquiorra struggles to understand.
Disclaimer: I do not own the places, characters, situations, etc. I have purchased flowers, though.
Author’s Note: I might have taken too much liberty with the theme, and if so, I'm sorry. But given the time period in the manga (which I’ve stretched from one day to several), this seems a good precursor to his wondering “what is a heart?”
5. So That He May Ascend by enisy
Word Count: 4,971
Summary: Orihime has sought him out in Soul Society, in the human realm, and in the Hell realm. There's one last.
Author's Notes: Initial beta-reading by issues09, thorough beta-reading by tuathafae. I was quite liberal with the contest theme, but I hope this is still valid. If not, I hope you still get a decent read out of it. :)
6. Words by smart_deedee
Pairing/Characters: Byakuya and Rangiku. Rukia also appears.
Summary: As time passes, words become meaningless. That's what she tried to tell him, but he wouldn't understand. But what happens when an unexpected twist makes them change their minds?
Disclaimer: Bleach belongs to Kubo. We all can dare to dream though.
Author's Note: Multiple POVs. It starts off with Rukia and then it switches several times between her and Rangiku. Also, there's many japanese terms, so I added a glossary at the end for the readers that are not acquainted with the terms. I hope you can enjoy my work and pardon the lenght. I got carried away.
7. Halfway by nightshade_ave
Author: Silvia (nightshade_ave )
Rating: PG-13 for cursing
8. Do You Still Love Me? by darthsqueechan
Length: 1,499 words
Rating: PG for... one mild swear word, I think.
Pairing: Unohana Retsu and Ukitake Jūshirō
Note: This story isn't really about romance, but it is about love.
For some reason, I felt inspired to write this Pairing. It's not as overtly coupley as one would expect of a valentine's fic, but I feel like it captures the contest theme in essence.
9. Existence by tanya_lilac
Word Count: 2266
Pairing/Characters: Muguruma Kensei/ Yadomaru Lisa
Summary: Then, a tiny movement, sharp intake of breath and flash of skin caught his attention and he dropped all attempts to get back to sleep.
Warnings: Lime-esque, I guess. Ramblings about Vizards and the like.
10. To Follow Her Light by combandmirror
Pairings: Renji x Rukia (unrequited), Ichigo x Rukia, Renji x Byakuya
Word Count: ~720
Summary: Because of her, he was reaching higher than he'd dared to dream.
11. Inconsolable by lorie_fan
Genre/Pairings/Summary: 11th division shenanigans/Can "What is this I don't even…" be a genre?
Rating: This is pretty PG.
Note: I swear I wrote this with the Valentine's Day contest and prompt in mind. So I apologize for the distinct non-Valentine's-ness of the whole thing.
12. The Thaw by yet_adored
Rating: PG-13 for mild violence
Genre: Family Dysfunction (and a touch of Romance, if you squint)
Length: 4,670 words
Summary: After Aizen's betrayal, Rukia struggles with the weight of Byakuya's promise to Hisana.
13. How To Be DisOwned by tuathafae
Genre: Drama-galore, a smidge of humor, and a whole lotta love (it's valentine's, forgive me)
Pairings: Byakuya/Hisana (but I, uh, kind of ran with the prompt)
Summary: Byakuya Kuchiki is thinking about writing a book. It would, of course, be a bestseller.
14. The Space Between by koizumi_miwa
Rating: PG-13 for implied sex, boykisses, and military themes.
Length: 1782 words
Summary: Chance encounters change lives, and bonds forged at the breaking point last forever.
Author's Notes: AU, set in a sci-fi universe just a teensy bit similar to the one in the movie Avatar, but instead of space travel, humans are jumping dimensions and the military are involved. Soldier!Uki and Shun. Hopefully this is okay--it's not up to my usual standards because I am in the middle of being horribly writer-blocked.
15. Ritual of Insanity by vitiates
Rating: PG-13 for violence, general not nice-ness.
Genre(s): Horror, Suspense
Length: 1642 words
Summary: She lives in a dream and dreams of nightmares.
Author's Notes: Because everyone's a little disturbed on the inside. Remember, this is alternate universe. In addition, certain aspects were left deliberately vague and there are parts that don't match up/make sense for a reason. Do not assume everything stated in the story actually happened, or that everything is true. Make of it what you will.
16. Don't Think I'll Forgive You Just 'Cuz You're Me! by balladbird
Rating: PG for very mild language
Summary: Following Starrk's death, Lilynette reminisces about things that have passed.
Author's Note: Admittedly, I was veeeery liberal with my interpretation of the contest's "breaking up and making up" theme. I can argue that this fits the theme, but I understand if one would want a story that more strictly adhered to it. If you feel that this story fails to follow the guidelines, please let me know, and I'll withdraw this one and submit a more proper one. The scene in the story changes from present to flashback, with italics text used to signify flashbacks. Other than that, just my usual notes. Sorry I'm not so great with prose. Most of my writing is done in the form of outlines and storyboards for graphic novels. That's all from me! Enjoy!
17. The Dying Light by vitiates
Rating: PG-13 for language
Genre(s): Angst, Drama, Romance, Supernatural
Pairings: Ichigo/Rukia (main), Zangetsu/Sode no Shirayuki
Length: 6,339 words
Summary: Once upon a time, the Gods played a game of Fate that erased the sun and blackened the moon. (She destroys, He creates, and the Love between them continues forever more).
Author's Notes: Title for this was taken from Dylan Thomas' Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night. I would highly recommend reading the poem after finishing this story. I couldn't resist taking the Break Up, Make Up theme a little further than intended. If you're a fan of Greek myths, I'm sure you'll be able to find some elements of those great legends in this. Kudos if you can guess at my OTP, which I snuck into the story quite discreetly. ;D
18. Nightingale Syndrome by adam_epp
Rating: T for some mature subject matter, violence, etc
Summary: Doctors aren't supposed to fall in love with their patients, especially when they're responsible for the patient being sent to the hospital, in the first place.
Genre: A violent romantic comedy
19. Cupid by ayshariham
Pairing: Ishida x Inoue
Genre: Romance, Angst, Hurt/Comfort
Summary: Help comes in unexpected forms. And they needed all the help they could get.
Warnings: Mention of broken bones & blood, 2325 words, depressed Uryuu and Orihime, slight fluff, bumps...?
Hope you enjoy it =)
20. The Strongest Weapon by combandmirror
Pairing: Tesla x Nnoitra
Word Count: ~1400
Summary: Szayelaporro's analysis of the attack on Neliel Tu Oderschvank may prove to be the cornerstone of Aizen-sama's long-term plan, if only he can settle his moral quandary and finish the report.
Disclaimer: Bleach belongs to Kubo Tite. I would be nicer to the characters.
21. Emptiness and Heartache" by catseye2001
Rating: G? PG?
Warnings: Matsumoto's bosom
Summary: Matsumoto and Kira left with only emptiness and sorrow.
DISCLAIMER: Bleach belongs to Kubo Tite. The characters should probably be grateful
22. Loving You by fatexstay_night
Pairing: Ichigo x Rukia
Rating: T [some mentally mature concepts]
23. Beautiful Warrior by mrdracospirit
Rating: Teen to be safe Genre(s): Romance/Action Pairings: ????/????
Summary: All couples have to deal with unique conflicts of views, including those between Shinigami.
Author's Notes: Mystery couple fanfic. :) I normally write in third person so all this first person writing was a little different for me (especially with the vast majority of it being written without anything like he or she 0.o).
MOD NOTE: I did this in a separate entry because I think LJ ate Deb's; let me know if I missed someone. I just checked and it seems to be working; but let me know if you're not listed or something. Thanks for your patience!
