I never thought I'd see melee fighting in Bleach--well, not quite melee but real honest to goodness team action, nothing Claymore quality but a beautifully scripted fighting sequence drawn by KUBO and from the eclipse in Ichigo's astonished eyeball to that smile of Shinji's that only shows on one half of a panel, the whole chapter is gorgeously drawn.
Soi Fong rocks. I swooned for Shunsui. I cheered Hitsugaya. I know they're all toast next week and I'm wondering who they really stabbed here (not an illusion this time but maybe Oomaeda?) It was a good fight chapter though and ... wow, I rarely say that about Bleach fights but they're getting crisper all the time.
I almost forgot about Mayuri and his wagon of goodies for a moment, almost forgot about all that conflict resolution Orihime needs to go through. ALMOST. I actually sat back in my chair and enjoyed the fighting. Usually I'm on a rung with the symbolism and a shipping essay and wondering about who's the real King and how will Aizen make the key but...
