Nice...

This chapter pretty much shows all the reasons why I don't trust Ginjou. Ichigo has one side of the story, and not a whole lot of information. But he is riled up now. That's all Ginjou's ever done-rile him up. He hasn't given him a whole lot of info, but now Ichigo doesn't trust Urahara, he doesn't trust his dad, he doesn't even trust his friends-he wont confront them on their lies.

And Ichigo has never been power hungry. Like Riruka pointed out though; Ichigo suddenly wants his powers back, no questions asked. These are people he's said he doesn't trust, and yet now he's throwing himself into their training.

So, even though we've got another training arc up ahead, I'm kinda excited. I sense a confrontation after this training arc-with Isshin? Urahara? SS?!
I'm liking this arc...

Also, something I forgot to comment on the first time around.

I like the parallel's between the two training sessions. First time around, Ichigo gets a pretty heart on his chest, and has to be sneezed on after fighting a stuffed animal that is really a yakuza.

This time around, there's no joking around before he enters the training area, and he's fighting a real opponent, who seems to have much more of an edge, if her response to Ichigo being ready to fight is anything to go by.

Very interesting. I wonder what Isshin and Urahara were talking about? But Ginjou, there's something about him I can't quite trust...

somehow I think he left out some important details. Also it doesn't make sense of Tsukishima to attack Ishida and Inoue to keep Ichigo away from the other Fullbringers. "To grab your attention" doesn't seem like a good motive to me O_o Attacking his friends is making him want his powers all the more -sigh-

You know, I had doubts about this arc in the beginning. However, with the new developments, I'm on the edge of my seat. That, and I'm waiting for Ichigo and Rukia to reunite lol

Same. Can't wait to see what Rukia has to say about what Ichigo's been doing.

Ichigo, if I could physically enter the world of Bleach, the second thing I'd do is kick you in your fuzzy orange head.

PS

;___;

I love Ichigo so so so much. And this chapter is just ... it kills me, how stupid he is in it. Someone needs to smack him upside the head.

So what's your reason for suspecting Urahara of being an enemy? The way he so deviously trained you, helped give you power to save Rukia, sent you to SS arc with Yoruichi, sent you to HM, helped you defeat and seal Aizen, etc? GOSH, THAT MUST BE A PART OF URAHARA'S MASTER PLAN TO... TO... TO... Yeah, okay. Call me when you think of something. WHEN YOU THINK. And this is TOTALLY why Isshin's talking to Urahara - 'cause Urahara's the enemy and ISSHIN MUST BE IN ON IT, TOO.

Arrrgh. Ichigo -_- -_- -_-

I am liking that we got a "what if he's the enemy?" from Ichigo, it really set in stone that it's a possibility! During the Aizen arc I didn't want Urahara to be an antagonist, but now that it's over I wouldn't mind it at all.

Also looking forward to this next training, seems it will be an actual fight instead of mostly comedy like the previous. lol
SummelBaerlisummelbaerli on March 17th, 2011 02:07 pm (UTC)
Urahara always had his own hidden agendas. But up until now they somehow collided with Ichigo's wants and needs, like rescuing Rukia.
Something's really fishy about Ginjou. Also that Shinigami he told Ichigo about looks a lot like Isshin. And Isshin's still alive. I have the feeling that Ginjou wants to plant distrust in Ichigo just to get what he personally wants.
tamzin: ichigoconquistadora on March 17th, 2011 04:20 am (UTC)
Actually, I think the 'guy' that Ichigo is referring to going after is Tsukishima, but Kubo left it ambiguous on purpose in order to resurrect suspicions of Urahara. After the FKT arc, I don't trust him either to be quite honest. He's the type that has his own ulterior motives when it comes to 'the greater good', or at least that's the vibe I got from his last foray into the main storyline.

Ichigo not trusting his own father is just wrong, though. It's true that Isshin is wrong for keeping things from Ichigo, and I can empathize with him being upset completely, but not running after him and trying to do things on his own again is not the right answer. It shows he hasn't learned anything from the HM arc. However, he could be acting this way because he's just so damn desperate. We know he freaks out when he's desperate and makes fatal errors. Still, it's not an excuse, it's a flaw... that coincidentally gives Bleach more suspense. heh

Speaking of fatal errors, buying into that story about Tsukishima much? I mean, honestly, one guy killed all those other Fullbringers and that Shinigami rep? And no one was hunting him down? While plausible, it's not something I'm willing to not question. It's true that Tsukishima has some damning evidence thrown against him, but it's more likely that he'll turn out to be, if not any ally, a character in the gray like many others that came before him.

I'm looking forward to the Jackie vs Ichigo battle. She looks like she fights nasty. >D

Incoming Thirty Xanatos Pileup. Ichigo is being played like Beethoven's Fifth, and the derp is too wrapped up in his personal angst to see it.

This feels like Soul Society arc all over again - the suspense, the question of the villain is up in the air and there's so many individual pieces moving on the chessboard that nobody knows whats going on. It all glorious chaos and confusion, one group pulling the strings on the others and vice versa. We have the Fullbringers and their stated mission, we have Ginjou's mysterious motivations, we have Isshin and Urahara moving towards their own goals, Tsukishima and his attacking the Nakama, the Nakama's own secrecy and lies to each other and Ichigo, and Soul Society still looming in the background, questioning Rukia about Ichigo over something.

Its such a nostalgia rush for me. I'm loving it.

Also: Ichigo, your lust for your powers is blinding you. I dont think he'll get Zangetsu or Rukia back in full until he stop wallowing in his own pity and starts seeking to get stronger to protect again. Cause now, it just feels like he's wanting his powers for their own sake.

I KNOW you are desesperate, I KNOW that you know your friends are trying to protect you by lying to you. I KNOW what Ginjou has said to you has upset you really much, but, PLEASE, PLEASE, can you use your orange head a bit this time and calm down and not panicking and getting paranoic like hell?

I freaking support this. He's... so lost. I can't believe just how lonely he must feel and what the hell has happened to his stability in the past 17 months. Srly boy, get a grip. And his father... well, lets pay tugs and break some bones XD I can't believe how unninterested in the sanity of his son Isshin is ¬¬

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: I haven't doubted that Urahara is a 100% good guy since I saw the look on his face when he was healing Ururu way back during the arrancar arc.

But not let's be too quick to put all the blame on Ichigo, either. Isshin are Urahara have been pretty cagey about their past and their relationship, for no real reason that is currently apparent.

I think Isshin was totally right when he said he was a sucky parent. I guess I shouldn't be surprised he raised someone emotionally constipated.

Great chapter!

For all we know, Ginjou and gang could still be in cahoots with Tsukishima. All of them could have mind/judgment altering powers or something. Ichigo was very quick to assume Urahara was an enemy there after all Urahara has done for him--kind of reminds me of Inoue thinking Tsukishima was a friend for a second there(AFTER BEING STABBED). Inoue realized quickly that he can't be because of what he did to Ishida, though. Ichigo is so lost and power starving that he has nothing to snap him back into reality.

I'm really not so sure how I feel about these Fullbringers.

*crack theory* I think that one of the Fullbringer's team works at the bakery Inoue works at and has somehow poisoned the bread she's distributing to everyone. Kind of strange she's been getting all that for free and has shared it with only Ichigo and Chad to our knowledge. Thus the reason everyone is acting so odd. lol OMG! Manipulative bread takes place of manipulative Aizen.
Luvarkrlovely15 on March 17th, 2011 06:35 am (UTC)
For some reason, the shinigami representative that was silhouetted seems like Papa Isshin. That was the first thing I noticed. XD It supported this thought more when that shinigami badge was shown and Ichigo's dad was shown.

I'm getting mixed feelings if Urahara is truly a good guy right now, but I don't completely agree that he's a bad guy but then again, Kubo did say that he likes creating characters that are different from what they look like. Honestly, I'm getting lost where the plot is going. @_@
_debbiechan__debbiechan_ on March 17th, 2011 07:12 am (UTC)

I have NO IDEA where this plot is going, but Urahara is a long-established character who's shown great humanity and comedy for 10 yrs--too late for him to pull a 180. The plot is this arc IS hard to call--in some ways things are narrowing down now so it's easier to guess--yeah we've got a training arc and a nice battle with Jackie is coming (she looks awesome! <3) In other ways, things are very different from the two previous arcs and we've got two new strong characters, Ginjou and Tsukishima, one of whom claims to be an ally and one who seems to be the antagonist--and it very well could be that it's the other way around--or so I'm calling it now. THAT'S classic Kubo.
nehalenianehalenia on March 17th, 2011 06:52 am (UTC)
He wants to keep you, a Shinigami representative, away from us. What he's done so far proves that.

Uh, NO, Ginjou. Everything that Tsukishima's done so far has driven Ichigo right TO you. If he'd wanted to keep Ichigo away from the Fullbringers, he'd just have shown up and killed him -- and with no powers, he'd have been easy prey.

Something else is going on here.

Mother of frog, Ichigo, were you really #23 in your class? You sure haven't been using those brains lately.
