Has anyone heard from Tito Kobe or anyone else?

This guy (currently offline) has said there are no confirmed celebrity, musician, seiyuu etc deaths. He should be back online after he gets some sleep. But yeah, Kubo is alive, Oda is alive, pretty much everyone has checked in. There was a rumor about the creator of Pokemon being dead but it was proven false.

ETA: Here's abother link, in Spanish:

It's more or less accurate--I checked his Twitter early yesterday. He had gone out (probably by public transport, not walking) prior to the quake and did end up having to walk to get home. At first he said it took 2 hours, then in a subsequent post he corrected himself and said it took 3.

For the most part yesterday he and the other author(s) I checked on were retweeting a lot of public service announcements about people-finding resources, emergency shelters, the need to minimize electricity consumption, etc.

Okay, people in the manga and anime industry that is Tokyo-based are safe. From the initial hits, that is. Tokyo experienced hard shocks and a handful of deaths. Sendai and coastal areas are the places that suffered the most horrible damages from the tsunami. Of course now there are the nuclear power plants near Toyko to worry about and the repeated hardships of disrupted daily life and scheduled power outages.

For those of you who can't speak Japanese, here is a good place to go to look up people who may be missing: http://bit.ly/f62gvB

I've been watching this dude who liveblogs in English from Japan and he's awesome because he doesn't sensationalize the news, takes questions in English and doesn't show vids (copyright issues) that may disturb the kids in the house: http://ustre.am/fkaU

Yeah, been looking around for info on Hoshino-sensei's whereabouts too. Best to just assume she's hunkered down until we hear something specific. As long as she was in Tokyo at the time she should be ok.

Wait, who's Tito Kobe? :p

Seriously, though, Kubo is fine. Glad about that. But, still, such a tragedy. Thoughts and prayers are with those in Japan.

Hmm, it wouldn't surprise me if they decided not to release a chapter next week out of respect for all the victims. I'm just glad everyone is alright, though.

This fukushima power plant business is seriously scary. Still, I've got no doubt this will be just another item to add to the long list of things Japan has survived throughout the years. Fight-o!

....4chan has respect for him? LOL I be trolling.

Glad to hear he's OK. :) Same with the other manga-ka and people of Japan. This whole event has me scared and worrisome.

Nevermind, I found it.
Tryxtryxkittie on March 14th, 2011 11:15 pm (UTC)

Styx667styx_uchiha on March 14th, 2011 11:24 pm (UTC)
He's not on ann list but I found this http://twitter.com/anifreakcom Apparently he didn't bother to notice worldwide he was alright because he lives in southern Japan xD
_debbiechan__debbiechan_ on March 16th, 2011 11:14 pm (UTC)

Yeah, Kishi's fine. Viz has confirmed with ANN that it has been in contact with its co-owners and that all of its creators are safe.
