Hellverse rakes in money, female audiences, low reviews?

More movie news and interesting results about Hellverse's first showings in Japan. A post from czeliate at BA HERE follows:

First few days Y199,147,100 already ? ~ wow, what a great result!!! I was hoping this movie will hit over ¥10 billion..it might surpass DDR though..

DDR: ¥ 0.8 billion
FTB: ¥ 0.73 billion
MON: ¥ 0.6 billion
so far ~~

(note : billion = 1,000,000,000 )

edit: just check on the yahoo website..about movie ratings from the japanese (since there is a discussion about the ratings at 2ch)
劇場版 BLEACH ブリーチ MEMORIES OF NOBODY gets a rating of 4.04 out of 5.0
劇場版 BLEACH ブリーチ The DiamondDust Rebellion もう一つの氷輪丸 gets a rating of 4.16 out of 5.0
劇場版 BLEACH ブリーチ Fade to Black 君の名を呼ぶ gets a rating of 4.30 out of 5.0
but 劇場版 BLEACH ブリーチ 地獄篇(hell arc) gets a rating of 2.89 out of 5.0 so far..wtf?

I know its only out in first few days..but seriously~ I thought the rating is too low compare to the previous bleach movie ..==''

but oh well..lets see if it can overcome it

What the hell? D:

I should elaborate on that. I am confused about the low rating and I hope it changes or we get more info or something soon. That is all.

The more screentime Orihime has = the lower ratings it gets

Observe the drop Bleach took in SJ rankings during arcs in Hueco Mundo when Orihime was prominent.

Haters gonna hate. And they do.

...That's a pretty bold assumption on a few lines of translation without much context. Are those ratings, in fact, audience opinions or critic reviews? I really don't think Orihime inspires such wide-spread contempt that professional movie critics would lower their rating by the mere force of her presence.

I'm guessing that the polls are exit ratings from the audience. The female ratin to men surprised me--as it did for FTB even though that particular movie was more advertised as a date movie. Maybe girls don't like action movies? (I hate that cliche) I've heard nothing but positive reviews from everyone, shippers and fanbois alike so I'm a little confused by the low ratings but the only grumblings I've heard, to be quite frank, were from people who didn't like Orihime being featured prominently. If IchiRuki shippers hated the hug that much would that account for the low ratings? The animation, storyline and IchiRuki-ness in this movie seemed to crowd-pleasing so I got nothing else.

That's interesting...from my perspective:

I used to be a pretty stout Orihime hater...>.> But as the manga progressed, my hatred of her died a little (mind you, very little). What really changed my perception of her was her introduction in the time skip arc. Somehow it seemed like she had gotten rid of the one quality that I had hated her for (and no, it wasn't her love of Ichigo). Now I find her amusing to watch and truly enjoy her panel time.

But I've got to say...while the arc was going on, right up 'till the point where the ending was near, I didn't keep up with the manga too faithfully. So I can see your point about how Orihime-haters might be bringing the ratings down for the manga. But I thought that while the movie had a hugging scene b/w Ichigo and Orihime...there was also supposed to be a lot of Ichiruki scenes in the movie itself...so if Ichiruki shippers were giving it low ratings for that one scene, wouldn't those ratings end up being applied to the scenes between Ichigo and Rukia as well? In the end, they'd just be stabbing themselves in the back. .-.

Isn't Orihime 1 of the most popular Bleach characters in Japan? She scored high in all the polls. So I don't think that's the reason. Btw, overall, Hueco Mundo arc was bad imo. I'm not surprised if there was a drop in sale.
Anyways, it only has been 1 week since the movie release so the rating will probably go up. From what I have heard so far, there are only compliments to Hell Verse.

She wouldn't have scored so high if Western fandom hadn't sent ballots to support her. In fact, she would have been out of the top 10 - the number of votes after #5 was really reduced and between #8 and #11, less than 100 votes separated them. While Rukia would be #3rd instead of #2nd.

Meanwhile, Inoue is still the second most hated female in SJ, first most hated character in Bleach.

The low rating was interesting, but I wasn't surprised with the amount of money it got during the first showings. It usually happens like this when movies come out initially and it's the 10th year anniversary of the series. Glad it earned alot of money though. All those hard-work paid off ^__^

well it has gone up to 3.08/5.0
I heard that its because some fanbois and fangirls unable to get the limited copy of bleach hell verse book? some complains about ichigo becoming ichithing and keeps firing his cero-which is boring and uninteresting..

The rating is indeed interesting... but the movie has only been out for a short period of time. I'm sure we can expect the rating to go up.
